Coffins of the slain couple of Lusikisiki during their funeral service iParlmaton, and they were described as lovebirds.

The family of the slain couple in KwaBhala locality (kwaDick) near Palmerton, Lusikisiki extended its deepest gratitude for the outpouring of love, support, and prayers during the difficult and painful time. They stressed that the presence and the kindness of the people have been a source of strength and comfort as they navigated the extensive grief. The couple; Mzingisi and Thandokazi Duntsula were gunned down on 21 May 2025, in the lounge of their home, where they were found in a pool of their blood already dead. The couple who was also working at St Elizabeth hospital was buried in a sound service on Friday 31 May 2025.

Lona Duntsula said losing Mzingisi and Thandokazi so tragically and suddenly has left a void in their hearts that words cannot fully express. “They were not only devoted to each other, but also to everyone who had the privilege of knowing them. Their love was a light in our lives, and their absence is deeply felt”, said Lona. She passed her gratitude to those who attended the funeral service and supported them in all forms. “Though our hearts were broken, we take some solace in knowing Mzingisi  and Thandokazi (Mihlali) are together in peace, thank you for standing with us and helping us carry their legacy forward with love,” she concluded. There is still no arrest as yet in this case as investigation is underway,   

Meanwhile, the province has sent seasoned detectives to track down the suspect responsible for the murder of this couple. Police are appealing to anyone with information concerning the double murder to contact Lusikisiki Detectives Head Lieutenant Colonel Siyabulela Kufa at 082 302 5118 or Crime Stop number: 08600 10111 or contact any nearest police station.
