A passion team of young primary school debaters from Centre of Excellence in East London, Eastern Cape (EC), who is only 5 months old, is looking for any Good Samaritan to help a team in achieving its dream and help bring them closer to their goal. They’ve been selected to compete at the 2025 Primary Schools National Debate Championships this October starting from 19th to 21st at Holly Family College, Johannesburg, and they need your help to make it there.
In May this year, became 2nd at the Pan African Schools Debate Championships, competing against some of the best teams on the continent. Locally, they also finished 2nd in the East London League, a competitive circuit with some of the region’s top schools.
According to one of the concerned parents Rifiloe Maputle, attending Nationals means more than a medal, it means being seen, heard, and challenged at the highest level of primary school level debate in South Africa. What do they need? To turn this dream into a reality, they need to raise R50 000. These funds will help cover all costs for 7 members including their two coaches and the following, transport, accommodation and meals during the competition, tournament registration and participation fees, sightseeing tour and team t-shirts and materials.
