EC educationalist to fly SA flag globally

Siphokazi Gambushe is a passionate educator from Toli Senior Secondary School (SSS) in Lusikisiki, Eastern Cape (EC), so she has been carefully selected as one of the distinguished awardees of the World School Summit 2026 in Malaysia, representing global excellence among delegates from 40 countries. Gambushe will be there to showcase her achievements in the education sector. The august event will take place on 24 January 2026 in Malaysia. This recognition was more than just an award; nevertheless it was a celebration of her unwavering commitment to education, her passion for empowering young minds, and her remarkable contribution to the academic community.  

Meanwhile, Ngobozana bona fide is well-known for championing or advocating Youth Citizen Action Programme (YCAP) in the Eastern Cape to empower learners to acquire skills like public speaking, project management and leadership. So therefore, Siphokazi implemented the programme in 2019 guiding learners to identify and address school challenges.  The project took her to Brazil attending the G20 ministerial summit where she also represented South Africa (SA) with dignity. 

“I’m thrilled and humbled to have been selected for the World School Summit, a prestigious global recognition of my work in education. When I applied, I was uncertain about my chances, given the high standards, but believed in my capabilities and the impact I’ve made. This selection is a dream come true, acknowledging my efforts to bridge the gap between private and public schools through innovative projects and curriculum enrichment programmes,” said Siphokazi. She called on the community to support her in reaching her goal. “With God’s guidance and your support, I aim to make the most of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and bring back valuable insights to benefit our education system,” she concluded. Siphokazi is expected to spend three days in Malaysia.
