Mkosi Group (PTY) LTD-has officially launched the business of film training programme which is taking place at Nelson Mandela Museum in Mthatha starting from 9 and continues to19 June 2025 and Makhanda at a venue to be confirmed between 7th -18 July 2025. The masterclass and workshop are a designed bridge to bridge the critical skills gap in the media and film sector, particularly in underserved areas such as Makhanda and Mthatha, the programme is the first of its kind in the Eastern Cape.
The programme has a backing of the Presidential Employment Stimulus administered by the National Film and Video Foundation, the Eastern Cape Provincial Arts & Culture Council (ECPACC) and with the potential further support from other Eastern Cape based development funding agencies.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Mkosi Group, Zama Mkosi, said this powerful new initiative is set to redefine the future of South Africa’s film industry. “It brings together selected participants from diverse fields-including creativeness, accountants, project managers, artisans, and marketers who all play vital roles in the broader film industry value chain”, said Zama.Meanwhile, the participants in this training include youth, and women from underserved communities who will be choose from a highly competitive pool of applicants. The training is not just a training programme but a model for transformation.
