The newly recommended King by indlu kaMarhelane (AmaMpondo Royal Family), King Silosohlanga kaDakhile was amongst the dignitaries who graced an august occasion in honouring Mpondo fallen heroes during the Mpondo revolt in Freedom Park Precinct, Pretoria. This dignified event was hosted by Dr Jane Mafumadi, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) OF Freedom Park.
The king also able to lay wreath in honour of Kings, chiefs, amaqhawe namaqhawekazi of the Mpondo Kingdom who played a cardinal role in colonial resistance and in the liberation struggle including but not limited King Faku, King Sigcau, King Marhelane, nkosi Ntsikayezwe Sigcau as well as Mpondo fallen heroes and martyrs of the Mpondo Revolt.
Meanwhile, from there king Silosohlanga went to deliver his keynote address during the launch of the South African Princesses network, imbumba yamaKhosikazi on Mzantsi Africa which was founded by Princess Stella Sigcau II of the Mpondo Kingdom in 2019. In his address King Silosohlanga kaDakhile said laying wreath on this day to the Mpondo fallen heroes reminded him that his late father King Zanozuko Sigcau passed away on the same date in 2022. He said to honour those Mpondo heroes also reminded him that as tribal and traditional leaders they are descendants of warriors, people who never cowards and descendants of resistance because of the role it was played by the traditional leaders.
He expressed his gratitude to Princess Stella for such initiative, calling to other princesses to follow in her footsteps and take responsibility for changing the country. Furthermore, the Eastern Cape Premier Oscar Mabuyane addressed the audience during the 65 Anniversary of the Commemoration of Ingquza Hill Massacre at Ingquza Heritage site in Flagsatff.
