The police in the OR Tambo district arrested two male suspects aged 27 and 28 years in Sulenkama –Maladini locality and Port St Johns –Nonyevu township last Tuesday at different times for possession of suspected stolen livestock and unlawful possession of an unlicensed firearm respectively.
In the first incident in Sulenkama, Qumbu at Maladini locality, police bounced on the 28 year-old male suspected stolen sheep. He informed police that he stole the thirteen sheep at Tsilithwa locality, Qumbu on Friday 10 October 2025.
In a second and unrelated incident, Port St Johns police conducted an intelligence driven operation and arrested a 27-year suspect at Nonyevu Township for possession of an unlicensed 9mm pistol firearm with intact serial number which on firearm circulation it revealed Brakpan Cas number in Johannesburg. The duo has been arrested and is to appear before magistrate courts of their jurisdiction, facing their respective charges very soon.
Meanwhile, OR Tambo Acting District Commissioner, Brigadier Vukile Ntuli applauded the members’ dedication in making sure that crime in the district is fought tooth and nail.
