Son behind bars for allegedly killing his father

A 34-year-old man was arrested in Ncihana locality in Elliotdale for allegedly stabbing to death his 55-year-old father at Mandela Park in Mthatha on Wednesday.

It alleged that the 34-year-old man allegedly killed his father whom he was staying with in Mandela Park and fled to Ncihana locality where they originally come from and that’s where he was arrested.

According to the police Spokesperson Captain Welile Matyolo, both son and father were self-employed. The lifeless body of the deceased was found inside his house with stab wounds on the upper body on tuesday morning by a neighbor who visited the deceased and immediately raised the alarm.

Captain Matyolo said the motive for the killing forms part of the investigation and the accused is expected to appear before Mthatha Magistrate court soon on charge of murder.
