The South African Police Service (SAPS) in the Eastern Cape embarked on a massive hunt of suspects who shot and killed two female victims aged 55 and 65 years at Sozawe locality in Maramzini Administrative Area, Flagstaff. According to the police reports the incident occurred at about 22h00, whilst the victims were asleep in a rondavel after a funeral service that day in a particular homestead. It is said that one of the victims was the daughter of a deceased woman who was buried on that day. She attended her mother’s funeral from her matrimonial home in Bizana. This incident followed the one that took place in Maramzini, where a woman was cut her throat open in front of her children and in that case, there is still no arrest.

Police spokesperson in the OR Tambo District Captain Welile Matyolo, revealed that shots were fired through a window, fatally wounding two female victims on their upper bodies, killing them instantly.
